The Theme Brief — Photoshoot Wear

Album Cover

Gel lights, attitude, and a frame built for a streaming thumbnail.

Portrait lit in red and blue gel light
Moody black-and-white night portrait against brick
Night city portrait in neon-lit street light
Singer with microphone under purple neon
Holding a vinyl record in red and blue light

The album cover shoot has one job: read at postage-stamp size on a streaming app and still stop the scroll. That means bold color, simple silhouette, and attitude over detail. Red-and-blue gel lighting is the genre's signature because it turns any wall into a mood — the wardrobe stays dark and structural so the light does the painting.

Statement outerwear, chains with weight, a vintage tee under a leather jacket — pieces with silhouette, not print. Shoot square crops from the start; the cover is 1:1 and the framing decisions change. Haze in the air turns gel light into atmosphere, and the best covers are usually the frames between poses.
